Privacy Policy

FixMyFile is operated by IbuData Solutions, a software studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This page explains what we do, and deliberately don't do, with your files and data.
1. Your files stay with you
Almost every FixMyFile tool runs entirely in your browser. When you merge a PDF, edit a document, convert an image, or redact text, the file is processed on your own device. It is never uploaded, and we never see its contents.
2. Tools that use our servers
A few tools need software that cannot run in a browser, such as Office to PDF conversion, the PDF unlocker, and the media downloader. For these, the file is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, processed, and returned to you. These files are temporary. They are deleted immediately after processing and are never inspected or reused.
3. Accounts
You can use most of FixMyFile without an account. If you sign in, authentication is handled by Clerk, and we store a minimal record (your email and name) to provide sign-in, sync your favorite tools across devices, and track your subscription. This data lives in our database provider, Convex.
4. Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. We keep only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so we can grant the right access.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run third-party advertising or ad-tracking.
- We don't store the contents of files processed in your browser.
- We don't keep files sent to our servers beyond the moment of processing.
6. Service providers
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the service:
- Clerk for authentication
- Convex for our database
- Stripe for payments
- Vercel and Cloudflare for hosting and delivery
- Our own servers for Office conversion, PDF unlocking, and downloads
7. Cookies
We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and operate the site. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us. In line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and applicable law, we handle personal data only for the purposes described here.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes are reflected by the “last updated” date at the top.
